Friends Joe and Will founded HomeEase in 2023 with the goal of making it easier to connect with someone to do jobs around your home. They had seen people repeatedly asking for help with jobs like lawn mowing and cleaning on their local Facebook community page and thought to themselves, “there has to be a better way”. From this simple realisation, HomeEase has evolved into a fully functioning marketplace which caters to the needs of both sides of the home services economy. HomeEase is currently available in Auckland, and has plans to expand across New Zealand. The team at HomeEase are incredibly grateful for everyone who uses the site, and additional gratitude goes out to the wonderful small businesses who help make our houses, homes.

HomeEase makes it simple for businesses to expand their online presence, find new customers and manage their bookings and payments – all on one easy to use platform. We envision HomeEase as the hub in a vibrant online home services economy, helping to connect businesses and customers up and down New Zealand.
Our all-in-one marketplace satisfies both sides of the home services coin. Firstly, customers. Often, information is fragmented – meaning that customers have to filter through untrustworthy websites, post on a community pages and call disconnected numbers to try and narrow down their search. Further, the process is often plagued by a lack of transparency. Customers are often uninformed in the decision-making process which decreases their ability to differentiate providers by price, experience or reviews. This can lead to incomplete jobs or work which is not up to the expected standard.
On the other side of the coin, the small businesses and individuals which carry out home service jobs face significant challenges too. The lack of resources and digital acumen necessary to build out functioning online storefronts or a professional social media presence is extremely limiting. Often, the customer acquisition process is constrained to word of mouth and self promotion. Moreover, if they are able to find work and complete the job to a high standard, the absence of an easy-to-use review system may mean they don’t capture the full network effect of their good work.
